Good evening and welcome to the exchibition of Juhász Tibor. I am Bill Hedvall, the representative of Tibor in Scandinavia, and I have been asked to make the opening speech here tonight.
First of all, I would like to thank you for coming here, and I would also like to point out something that many times tends to be overlooked. Namely, that it is you, as an individual and collective that gives art its and purpose. You are the link between the artist and the greater society. That is why we are here tonight, because art needs an audience, and hopfully, the audience needs art.
I am sometimes asked what I think constitutes good art. For me personally, art is about communication, about communication something that we call sense, but only the artist can make sense of. An object of art should not only be visually stimulating, but should also points towards something lies beyound itself. It should connect to something universal and timeless, something that speaks to people regardless of wich era they live in.
Let me present Juhasz Tibor, an artist who I think does exactly that. His painting show us a deeper perspective that just the passionate unity of man and woman. He shows us how something so fragmented and diverse, in both color and form, can be made to harmonize in perfect coexistence. His art is a lesson in what is possible, and makes a powerful statement about the times we live in.
I have known Tibor for some time, and I must say that he is in my mind the archetype of a true artist. He is the kind of artist that is able to merge both his life and art into one uncompromising whole.
Not only is he a painter of passion, but he is also an expression of passion himself. A passion that guides him in his never ending quest for inspiration.
So, I invite you here tonight, to get an unique glimpse into the mind of an up and coming artist, and I hope that you will have a pleasant evening, in the spirit of Tibor's art.
Thank you!
William Hedvall
