Breef talking in a café

A breef conversation at Műhely Kávéház, with Teréz Erdélyi, which was published in a weekly paper named Fehérvár. The title was born by talking about luck, and I happened to say that I am a lucky man, but I know there is always concentrated hard work behind luck.

The concious lucky man.

There is nobody in Fehérvár who would not meet the man walking with his enormous irish wolf, his wife, who is always hugged by their little son, and their daughter, who is always running around-in front of-behind-next to her parents. We are talking about Tibor Juhász’s family and himself with whom I was talking on a lovely afternoon at the garden of Műhely. About everything.

It is remarkable how You could put Your intimate sphere to Your paintings on this exhibition (in Műhely). I can recognize You on them. Why?

I am trying not to be so obvious, maybe that is why there are no faces on them. Because it is possible for someone to decorate his bedroom this way. I am such a man from the XXI.st century, so I am trying to find the goal of art. And that is only the fact of reaching other people. Maybe this is a kind of sin for artists from the XXth century, who were working for dying from starvation.

Do You receive orders for painting?

I accept orders too, but there are some paintings only by myself.

How can art fit in Your day?

I think that is impossible (laughs).

And when inspiration comes?

Then there is the night, when there is no playing with kid sor running with Edward.

What is on the first place in Your life?

Family, because I am a very lazy man, and playing is much more fun than doing anything else. I can play lego again and things like that. It is good to be a child again.

Are You a classical family?

Huh, well I do not know what classical means, we are, but it is difficult. I think everything went wrong in XXth century. Things which are classical now, are parts of a totally crazy family structure, quite strange... let’s go back to work as soon as it possible, give the child to anyone, anywhere, I understand that society expects that from us, but it is weird.

How does it work in Your family?

We are lucky that we are home. We are not consiously sharing everything, but at least everyone is home, so everyone is doing everything.

And You are lucky, because You found a partner similar to You...

I was talking to somebody last time about the necessery things we have to collect for the "succesful" life, and then I realised that if I can not find a better woman than my wife even in my erotic dreams, that really means I am living succesful life.

Can you already notice that Your children are listening to what is Daddy doing?

Of course, there are a lot of pencil and paint on Tamara’s desk, so Iván also takes them. This classical family modell reminds me on tribal lifestyles, where there is impossible that You have to arrive to the office by 8, and do not see Your child all day. You are working with Your bolts, while playing with the kid. This should be normal, but we are quite far from that.

How did Edward come to Your life?

Edvárd is Csilla’s, I always preferred cats. Now let’s say I prefer Edward (laughs). When we met, Csilla bought him, but his name was chosen by both of us.

How is Your relationship like?

When I go somewhere, and she is not coming with me, I already miss her. We are friends.
